Labor Day

Every year at Labor Day, Payson has their annual Onion Days. The celebration starts on Friday and goes thru Monday. On Saturday we went to the park where they had a lot of booths set up and carnival rides. Gavin and Landon had more fun just playing on the swings and slides. We had to go early enough to the park to make sure we were back in time for the BYU game. Wasn't that AWESOME!!!! Beau scared Gavin a couple of times with the screams of excitement!! :)

Monday the city had a parade. It was fun to go to a 'small town' parade, they throw candy and you usually know half the people that are in it. We got lots of candy and coupons. That afternoon Ryan and Sara came over and we went up the canyon for a small hike up to the water fall and for some dutch over cobbler.

The hike is perfect because all the kids can walk it themselves.

All the kids had fun walking across the bridges. There are a few of them.

Beau and Ryan were brave enough to wade out in the FREEZING water and pose for a picture. The water really was freezing, we couldn't handle it for very long, but the kids hardly even seemed to notice the cold.

Gavin, Landon and Hailey all had fun throwing rocks in the water. Gavin would wade out grab a rock, walk back to the edge of the water, throw the rock, and repeat. He did this right up until we pulled him out of the water.

After the small hike we went up to our new favorite camping spot and cooked dutch oven cobbler. Peach/pineapple..... it was delicious!!

There was a hole that someone had dug since the last time we were there, and the kids had fun playing in it and throwing the dirt at each other and back in the hole.

Gavin did try to pull down a tree, but had no luck.

By the end of the evening all three were shoeless and filthy dirty.

I couldn't get Gavin to stop putting dirt on his head. By the time we left he had dirt in his underwear from falling down his back.

They got so dirty thay had to have a bath before they could even go to bed. It was late but it had to be done. They had so much dirt in their hair it was ridiculous!

Poor Landon grabbed one of the charcoals we were using to bake the cobbler. I think he must have thought it was a rock. Because of the dark I couldn't find where he had burned himself, but come the next morning we could sure see it. :(

Poor kid, that's the thumb his sucks to go to sleep too.
