Peterson Reunion

Last weekend we had the Hal Peterson reunion down near Yuba Lake. Beau's cousin Holly, her in-laws, own some land out there and were kind enough to let us use it. There are about 4 small cabins built and a pavilion. There is also a shed full of toys. Hal has 5 boys, and 4 of them and their families were able to make it. Their youngest, Mark, lives in Washington state and wasn't able to make the long trip down. The reunion started on Thursday afternoon, but we weren't able to make it down until Friday afternoon. We showed up just as everyone was going down to float the river, we were about 30 min. to slow getting there. :( While everyone was swimming we found a spot to put up our tent and tried getting settled. We had to get us a bigger tent to fit all of us, so this was the 1st time we had set it up and it took us what felt like FOREVER!!

That afternoon they also had the shotgun competition. Beau said that everyone was doing pretty good and that is why it took so long. The winner was. . . . . .Cody! Congrats!

Gavin and Belle were playing together and eating lots of watermelon while all the boys were having their shotgun competition. They were shooting guns for several hours.

After dinner Thursday, our immediate family decided to go float the river again. It was probably around 8:30-9:00 when we went. It was probably the dumbest thing I did. Don't get me wrong, it felt so good. The water surprising comfortable, not too cold, the temp. outside was good, the sun was setting, but then there were the MOSQUITOES!!!!!! They were EVERYWHERE!!!! It was awful. I didn't think they got me too bad until Friday evening when we got home. I counted over 50 bites!!! I'm ok now though, they don't bother me anymore. Beau, on the other hand, is still scratching his legs until they bleed. He is awful at leaving them alone. We may not take care of us very well, but our boys came home from the whole this with NOT ONE mosquito bite. We were very proud parents.:) hehehe
That night when we went to bed, Gavin wasn't quite ready. He screamed for a long time. Landon wanted to go to sleep, but with Gavin he couldn't. Finally, when Gavin stopped screaming he fell right to sleep. He slept between Beau and I and hardly moved a muscle all night. The boys did really good and slept all night without a problem.
When we woke up in the morning Gavin found the keys and of course pressed the horn button, so the car starting honking. At first I didn't even know it was ours, so that is why it when on so long. Sorry, I'm sure we woke some people up. I apologize. :(
